Responsibilities

  1. Infrastructure and Cloud Management:
    • Design, implement, and manage hybrid and multi-cloud architectures using Azure, AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
    • Automate infrastructure deployment and configuration using tools like Ansible, CloudFormation, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines, and Bash scripting.
    • Build and maintain systems using key Azure services, including Virtual Machines (VMs), Blob Storage, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Event Hubs, and Azure SQL Managed Instances, or equivalent solutions on other public clouds.
  2. Site Reliability Engineering (SRE):
    • Build and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure systems with a focus on high availability and performance optimization.
    • Develop monitoring and alerting systems using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Cloud-native monitoring tools to ensure system health and performance.
    • Automate incident response and recovery processes to minimize downtime and ensure quick resolutions.
    • Conduct root cause analysis for system failures and implement long-term solutions to improve reliability.
    • Establish and track SLOs (Service Level Objectives), SLAs (Service Level Agreements), and SLIs (Service Level Indicators) to align with client expectations.
  3. DevOps Leadership:
    • Lead planning sessions, review work, and mentor mid-level and junior DevOps engineers.
    • Define and implement DevOps strategies and processes for client infrastructure.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver tailored solutions, capturing technical details and designs in tickets for clear communication.
  4. Collaboration and Support:
    • Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies and contribute to technical architecture discussions.
    • Provide limited on-call support, pre-planned and approved with clients, as needed.

Requirements

  1. Infrastructure and Cloud Expertise:
    • Extensive experience with Azure services, including Virtual Machines (VMs), Blob Storage, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Event Hubs, and Azure SQL Managed Instances, or equivalent solutions on other public clouds.
    • Strong knowledge of AWS cloud services.
    • Proficiency with Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation for infrastructure management.
    • Experience with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines, or TeamCity.
    • Strong scripting skills in Bash and other relevant languages.
  2. SRE Proficiency:
    • Hands-on experience implementing monitoring, alerting, and incident management systems.
    • Proven track record in optimizing system performance and ensuring high availability.
    • Strong understanding of SLOs, SLAs, and SLIs for client systems.
  3. General:
    • Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration with Kubernetes.
    • Fluent English communication skills (written and spoken).

Plus Skills

  1. Professional certifications in AWS or Azure (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps Engineer).
  2. Familiarity with SRE tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
  3. Proficiency in Spanish for collaboration with Spanish-speaking team members.
  4. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and prior experience in Scrum environments.
